The Surinamese television program I-WRITE is approaching its denouement.
Work has been underway in Paramaribo on 5 short Surinamese films for over 10 weeks.
During these weeks, the Surinamese community has had the opportunity to write a script for a short film.

Jury members, including Borger Breeveld, have selected 5 scripts from all submissions to be filmed.

A series of casting days determined which actors and actresses get to act in the films.
What is remarkable about this is that the choice was made for new and young talent instead of the established order. The actors and actresses were selected by the general public via SMS voting. The film shoots are already in full swing.

With the arrival of Suriname's newest cinema, TBL Cinemas, young actors and actresses have the chance to admire themselves on the big screen.
The premiere for the films is scheduled for July 21, 2010.
