France has selected *Minotaur* by director Andrey Zvyagintsev as its entry for the Oscar for Best International Film. The film previously won the Grand Prix at the Cannes Film Festival. The French Oscar committee made the selection following auditions with producers, international sales agents, and American distributors of five shortlisted films. The parties involved included Mubi, Neon, and Sony Pictures Classics.
