The Giornate degli Autori at the Venice Film Festival has announced its award winners. The GdA Director's Award went to *Sometimes Sadness, Sometimes Rebellion* by Argentine filmmaker María Aparicio. The jury, chaired by Carla Simón, praised the film for its intimate yet political message regarding work, immigration, and privilege. The €20,000 is shared between the director and the international distributor. The Europa Cinemas Label was awarded to *A Woman Today* by Robert Guédiguian. The People's Choice Award, determined by the audience in the Sala Perla, went to *Balcanica* by Nicola Sorcinelli with 76% of the votes. Cosimo Messeri won the SIAE Award for Creative Talent for *The Massacre*.
