At the Open Doors of the Locarno Film Festival 2026, Talemwa Pius won one of the two main prizes with *A Vineyard for a Lobster*. The magical realist project comes from Uganda. *Accept My Plea for a Burial* by Mohammed Sheikh also won an award. This project is a critique of old traditions in Somalia. All six submitted projects received a cash prize. *The Ones With the Tempered Flowers* by Neema Ngelime won two sponsorship prizes. The awards ceremony took place on Monday.
