TIFF announced the lineups for Midnight Madness and TIFF Docs this week. Together, both sections feature 24 world premieres. Midnight Madness presents ten films, six of which are world premieres. Anna Biller screens The Face of Horror, her long-awaited follow-up to The Love Witch. Paolo Strippoli returns with The Spiral, following a first screening in Venice. TIFF Docs includes 21 documentaries from 20 countries, with 18 world premieres. Afsaneh Salari's Tehran: Under the Skin, a co-production of France, Iran, and Sweden, examines the beauty industry in Tehran. Sophie Fiennes screens The Pervert's Guide to Utopia, once again in collaboration with philosopher Slavoj Žižek. The festival runs from September 10 to 20.
