The Spanish ICAA has awarded its selective grants for 2026. In total, 67 projects will receive a combined 30 million euros. This amount is seven million euros lower than in 2025. The grants go to 35 fiction and animation projects, 23 documentaries, and nine experimental films. Five animated films each receive one million euros, including Hábitat, Carmen y la cuchara de palo, and Nora Eta Anbotoko Dama. The 2D animated film A veces silencio by Álvaro Robles receives nearly 925,000 euros. Several feature films receive 800,000 euros, including Las faunas by Silvina Schnicer, El gran poder, and Porto Alegre by Álvaro Gago. At least 40 percent of the total budget goes to projects under female direction.
