Werner Herzog returns to fiction after seven years with Bucking Fastard. The film has its world premiere in the main competition of the 83rd Venice Film Festival, where it is competing for the Golden Lion. The film is based on the true story of British twin sisters Greta and Freda Chaplin. Rooney Mara and Kate Mara appear together on screen for the first time. Domhnall Gleeson and Orlando Bloom complete the lead roles. Herzog describes the film as the final installment of a trilogy alongside Fitzcarraldo and Grizzly Man. Shooting took place in Dublin and Slovenia. HanWay Films is handling international sales.
