Danny Boyle's *Ink* opens the 83rd edition of the Venice International Film Festival (2–12 September) as a world premiere in competition. The script by James Graham, based on his Tony-nominated play, follows the history of the tabloid The Sun, starring Jack O'Connell, Guy Pearce, and Claire Foy. The film reconstructs how Rupert Murdoch and Larry Lamb launched a new kind of tabloid journalism in 1969 that profoundly changed British media culture. Alwin H. Küchler handled the cinematography, while Studiocanal is responsible for distribution in multiple territories and Lucky Red is handling the Italian theatrical release.
