The 79th Locarno Film Festival, taking place from August 5 to 15, presents its competition selection with 17 titles vying for the Golden Leopard, with well-known festival attendees such as Basil Da Cunha with O Jacaré, Ann Oren with Objet A, and Salvatore Mereu with Alberi erranti returning alongside Hong Sangsoo with Nowhere To Lay My Eyes and Denis Côté with Violence du corps de l'autre. The Out of Competition section includes thirteen titles, including Roma elastica by Bertrand Mandico and Seize moments de ma vie by Albert Serra, while honorary designations are awarded to Darren Aronofsky, Asia Argento, and Isabella Rossellini, among others.
