After two years of activity, the Italian Entertainment and Environment Observatory shows clear growth in the number of film productions with green certification, while 270 cinemas and 363 theaters have implemented energy improvements thanks to PNRR funds. Scientific Director Marco Gisotti emphasizes that directors such as Riccardo Milani, Paolo Virzì, Alice Rohrwacher, and Maura Delpero demonstrate thematic attention to climate in their work, while the sector follows broader European developments, including the Nordic Ecological Standard, the European Commission's MEDIA Carbon Calculator, and collaborations between Ecoprod and Eurimages, which are jointly developing a toolkit and an e-learning platform, Step Up, for sustainable international co-productions.
