At its fiftieth edition, Annecy became the first animation festival to achieve FIAPF A status, while the partnership with Cannes deepened as six of the eleven feature films in the main competition had previously been screened on the Croisette. With over nineteen thousand accredited attendees and the presence of Disney, Pixar, DreamWorks, and Netflix, the festival achieved a record turnout. The Jury Prize in the feature film competition went to La violonista by Ervin Han and Raúl García, which disappointed the auteur due to substandard animation, while Le corset by Louis Clichy won both the Jury Prize and the Audience Award, and Don Hertzfeldt's Paper Trail dominated the short film competition.
