ANiMPACT, a collaborative initiative of CineRegio, Ecoprod, and Green Film, is launching the pilot phase of its sustainability framework for animation productions on June 25 during MIFA. Following a two-month public consultation involving 54 respondents from 18 countries, the team confirmed the solidity of the framework, which comprises 30 criteria divided into seven categories focused on environmental and social impact. Criteria such as gender equality and waste management are already widely applied, whereas carbon footprint measurements and GPU optimization are still rarely implemented. The initiative is now seeking completed or advanced animation projects willing to test the standards, while Ecoprod and Eurimages are also launching an online course on sustainable animation.
