On June 18, the 16th Austrian Film Awards took place at the HQ7 studios in Vienna, where Alexandra Makarová's drama Perla dominated the evening with eight awards, including Best Picture for producers Arash T Riahi and Sabine Gruber. Adrian Goiginger won five awards with Four Minus Three, including Best Director and Best Actress for Valerie Pachner. During the ceremony, Riahi warned of cuts to the ÖFI+ fund, which threaten to make films by minority filmmakers impossible, while the trophy is henceforth officially called the "VALIE," after the late multimedia artist Valie Export, who originally designed the statue.
