Darren Aronofsky will receive the honorary Pardo d'Onore on August 14 during the Locarno Film Festival, which runs from August 5 to 15, where he will present two of his films on the outdoor stage of the Piazza Grande: The Fountain (2006) and Mother! (2017). Artistic Director Giona A. Nazzaro describes Aronofsky as an auteur who consistently challenges conventions and whose personal style is so recognizable that the term "Aronofskian" has become commonplace, anchored in recurring themes such as faith, motherhood, and the tensions surrounding authoritarian father extras.
