Annecy has announced 36 titles for its 2026 editions of the Official Competition, Contrechamp, and Annecy Presents, with Artistic Director Marcel Jean refuting the claim that the animation sector is in crisis. The Official Competition features eleven titles, including Viva Carmen! by Sébastien Laudenbach, Decorado by Alberto Vázquez, and In Waves by Phuong Mai Nguyen, which illustrates a growing trend towards adaptations. Two Chinese films, Nobody by Shui Yu and Tana by Ji Zhao and Ke Er Zhu, demonstrate the rapid development of that industry, while Tangles by Leah Nelson and The Violonist by Ervin Han and Raúl García represent international co-productions.
