CPH:DOX, which will hold its 23rd edition from March 11 to 22, consciously positions itself as an open platform for democratic dialogue, two days before the Danish elections. Artistic director Niklas Engstrøm emphasizes that the festival does not aim to be a safe echo chamber, but rather a space for difficult conversations between people with different viewpoints. Program pieces such as Kenya-Jade Pinto's "The Sandbox," about border control and surveillance technology, Omar Shargawi's activist "Palestinian Unwanted," and Johannes Ujo Müller's "Our Flag," about Greenlandic identity, exemplify this approach, with the festival explicitly refusing to exclude filmmakers based on nationality or political affiliation.
